EdHealth's Diabetes 4 Disability Online training provides participants with the knowledge and skills to support their clients with their diabetes self-care. A requirement of the course is for the disability support organisation to book staff doing the training into an Online Skills Check (OSC) after completing the online knowledge component of the course. In this sessions, their technique using the meter and injections are evaluated. Some organisations also book online presentations for their support workers to find out more about the non-insulin injectable diabetes medications and/or Diabetes Management Plan.
When booking NDIS eligible Online Skill Check session or presentation please:
- Book enough sessions to cover the needs of your staff (Online Skills Sessions - maximum 3/session)
- Coordinate the booking of staff into sessions
- Confirm their attendance before the session
- Inform us via email at least 24hours before the session's booked start time if acancellation is required.
Cancellation Cost: If an online session is cancelled, it is the responsibility of the participants' employing disability organisation to notify EdHealth, via email, no less than 24 hours before the scheduled start of the session. Less than 24 hours notice triggers the issuing of an invoice for the cost of the booked session (up to $1000). This is charged to the disability organisation unless the cause of the cancellation is due to an incident linked with the NDIS participant and outside of the organisations' control. In this circumstance the participant's NDIS Plan is billed. Payment is required before a replacement session is booked.
Disability support organisations are informed of our Cancellation Policy in the Diabetes 4 Disability Support Disclaimer document. NDIS participants/nominees receive a copy when the Service Agreement is issued.
To cancel an Online Skills Session: Email our administration team (admin1@edhealth.com.au) as soon as you are aware of the possibility of a need to cancel and we will work with you to re-schedule the session. This policy aligns with the NDIS policy on short notice cancellations. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
